It was late! The snow had finally stopped falling after a day of swirling flakes piling up around town. The day had been a busy one, filled with friends, meetings and a local author book launch. When I walked in the door at 9:30 p.m, all I could think about was how I wanted a hot bath, my new book I picked up at the book launch that day and some chocolate.
As I opened the pages of Tara Karr Roberts book, I read the note she left for me, "Kate, I hope you enjoy the adventure. - Tara”. Chapter one was filled with salty notes of magic mixed with grief and curiosity. After relaxing in the hot bath, I slipped into my pajamas and snuggled in bed with my ten year old. We read side by side to keep warm. She with Wings Of Fire and I with Wild And Distant Seas in hand. How exciting it was to read this book that this author had poured her heart and soul into.
We read until my smart lights slowly dimmed and the dark of the night over took my room. My sleepy mind couldn’t stop thinking about Tara’s story and where it might take me as I anticipated reading more of her captivating words!
